Dominoes are originally a tile-laying game with tiles that display 1 to 6 dots on each half. Each half has its own "number." The goal is to connect the tiles so that the numbers match and form a row. Several versions of this game have been made in the past. Another way to play with the dominoes is to place them upright in a row. When one tile falls, it causes the next to fall, which in turn knocks the next, and so on. This is called the domino effect. There was also Domino Day, where teams competed to set the world record for the most dominoes knocked down in a single row. These were often accompanied by entire works of art created around that year's theme.
